Since opening Scheurer Hospital in 1945, Dr. Clare A. Scheurer's legacy spans in every direction. To celebrate 80 years of Better Health and Better Life, we are asking you for your stories of how Scheurer has impacted your life.

Ever wonder how we solve medical puzzles? Diagnostic Imaging is one of the many high-tech tools at our disposal! Armed with countless tests, our team is able to determine what is happening inside your body with clear results. Kayla Gornowich is one of our Radiological Technologists (RT) and she explains what all entails her important role at Scheurer Health.

We are excited to debut our new series entitled, "My Job in 60 Seconds," where we will be featuring individuals across every aspect and every corner of Scheurer Health's 20+ locations and 50+ departments.

Our first feature highlights the role of our physical therapists inside our Rehabilitation department, which consists of Physical Therapy, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Aaron Kuhl, PT was born and raised on the west side of the Thumb and is a graduate of Unionville-Sebewaing Area (USA) High School. After college and graduate school, Aaron had a desire to help the community that helped raise him.

The best way to spread Christmas Cheer is...wreaking havoc all across Scheurer Health. Buddy the Elf, who looked eerily similar to Dr. Paul Scaddan stopped by our main campus and tried to spread the Christmas Spirit, but frankly, may have hindered more than helped...

After many months of discussions, research and studies, we are excited to announce that Harbor Beach Community Hospital will become part of the Scheurer Network! On Monday, October 28, 2024, both Boards of Trustees at Harbor Beach and Scheurer Health signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to come together.

We are in the process of resurfacing our main campus parking lots! Throughout the project, which is scheduled to wrap up in just five days, all entrances will remain open. Some of your usual parking spots may just not be available temporarily.

To help sustain our 75+ year success at Scheurer Health, we are launching our first Annual Giving Campaign. All proceeds benefit the Scheurer Health Foundation so that we can continue our goal of providing Better Health and Better Life to our local communities.

Pain, whether acute or chronic, can significantly impact a person's quality of life. Dr. Mina Salib, our new pain management doctor at Scheurer, understands this all too well. His expertise and compassionate approach to patient care have allowed him to change many patient's lives to reduce or get rid of pain.

We are proud to introduce David Hobbs, MD as he becomes our second general surgeon at Scheurer Health. You will find that Dr. Hobbs embodies the essence of compassionate and expert surgical care, bringing his expertise back home to the Thumb of Michigan. With a background in general surgery and a commitment to serving diverse demographics, Dr. Hobbs offers a comprehensive range of procedures from routine to critical situations.
