Our Story
Our story began in 1934, when Dr. Clare A. Scheurer opened a small clinic in Pigeon. Just over a decade later, the area’s first hospital opened downtown, launching a legacy that continues to shape healthcare in our region.
In 1972, with the support of our community, a new hospital opened on Caseville Road—growing into the Scheurer Health we know today.
Most recently, we took one of our biggest steps forward yet—the acquisition of our Harbor Beach hospital—expanding access and strengthening care across our region.
And while that incredible momentum is nearing its next chapter, one thing is certain: we’re just getting started.
