My Job in 60 Seconds: Aaron Kuhl, PT
We are excited to debut our new series entitled, "My Job in 60 Seconds," where we will be featuring individuals across every aspect and every corner of Scheurer Health's 20+ locations and 50+ departments.
It's our goal to shine a bright light on the individuals that make Scheurer Health so successful and your premier choice for healthcare in the Thumb of Michigan. We realize that without our team of 500+ healthcare professionals, Scheurer Health would be nothing more than a series of empty buildings scattered across Michigan.
With healthcare roles being so critical and frankly, sometimes complicated, you will find a version longer than just one minute below. On social media, such as our Facebook & Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, you'll find the true-to-its-name 60-second version.
Our first feature highlights the role of our physical therapists inside our Rehabilitation department, which consists of Physical Therapy, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Aaron Kuhl, PT was born and raised on the west side of the Thumb and is a graduate of Unionville-Sebewaing Area (USA) High School. After college and graduate school, Aaron had a desire to help the community that helped raise him.
"I want to do the best that I can for the people closest to me and in our community. These are all people that I grew up and are neighbors with now. I want to make sure that I'm holding up my part by giving back to the people community that helped raise me."
-Aaron Kuhl, PT
Aaron sees Physical Therapy patients in Pigeon on our main campus, as well as Sebewaing in our Health Center, located next to our Primary Care clinic (and behind the world-famous Dairy Barn). In addition to his responsibilities at Scheurer Health, Aaron is heavily involved in the community. He is currently the soccer coach for USA High School and a board member for the Huron County Community Foundation, among other civic and community organizations.
Scheurer Rehabilitation is proud to be the only organization to offer Aqua Therapy, thanks in part to a donation from the Herb Gettel family in the early 2000s. According to Aaron, Aqua Therapy allows patients the opportunity to rehab and heal on a faster timeline, having the ability to work on areas that might otherwise be inhibited by gravitational pull.
With Physical Therapy sharing a space with Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehabilitation, all three specialties are able to work together to determine the best plan of care for each patient's unique situation. With the latest technology available, patients have access to all of the training equipment needed to get them back on their feet quickly. Most Physical Therapy care plans consist of 8-12 sessions where patients meet with our staff to focus on a training regimen to regain strength and function in affected areas.
