Eligibility:
- Direct Care RNs and LPNs
- Annual Presentations
- Must be in good standing/employed at time of presentation
Nomination Criteria:
- Employee has a positive attitude and demonstrates professionalism in the work environment
- Demonstrates extraordinary, compassionate care

- Established a special connection with patients, families and visitors through trust and emotional support

The Sunshine Award Criteria
The Sunshine Award is an internal award created by our Patient Experience Team for our support staff here at Scheurer Health.
Eligibility:
- Any role in the organization, other than nursing and providers, that provides quality services.
- Annual Presentations
- Must be in good standing/employees at time of presentation

The Dwight Gascho Leadership Award Criteria
The Dwight Gascho Leadership Award was established in 2017 as an endowment with the Huron County Community Foundation to support leadership development at Scheurer Health. In 2021, the award expanded to include an annual recognition honoring an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership excellence over the previous year. The spirit of the Dwight Gascho Leadership Award celebrates Dwight’s legacy by recognizing leaders who continue to strengthen our organization and the communities we serve. The award is open to leaders from both our Pigeon and Harbor Beach locations.
Nominees are evaluated based on the Scheurer Leadership Standards, including leading as a role model, practicing resiliency, demonstrating community involvement, striving for communication that reflects transparency and honesty, upholding professionalism and embracing cultural changes and new clinical initiatives with enthusiasm.
Nominations must be submitted internally by Scheurer Health employees; external nominations are not accepted.
