Blog: A Scheurer Thing

With the holiday season officially upon us, the Scheurer Health Foundation and Hospital Auxiliary are proud to present the 2025 edition of Lights of Love. Now, through a majority of the winter, each of our campus locations will be illuminated in bright twinkle lights in honor of those that we love and appreciate.

Individuals, businesses and the like all had the opportunity to dedicate lights, trees and snowflakes to those special people in their lives. To view the entire list of 2025 honorees, follow the link here.

In observance of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month in September, our Senior Life Solutions (SLS) team hosted a Butterfly Scavenger Hunt across our campus. Participants searched for hidden butterflies, each a symbol of transformation, new beginnings and the beauty of hope.

National Advanced Practice Provider Week is celebrated annually on the fourth week of September. We want to thank our amazing Advanced Practice Providers for their invaluable contributions to healthcare and our community.

Despite the sudden fall weather, over 100 people came out to support the Huron County Suicide Coalition for our third and final 5k race of the year in Elkton, Michigan. A total of $2,619.60 was raised for the cause and smiles abounded throughout the five-kilometer route in Elkton.

The Scheurer Health Foundation Golf Classic is being called a smashing success after 36 teams packed Verona Hills Golf Club and raised nearly $50,000 on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Thank you to everyone who made the event possible – from our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, donors, course staff and supporters from afar.

As we prepare to dramatically upgrade our facilities inside the village of Sebewaing, first we need to move some of our services. The first step in that process is our Laboratory and Physical Therapy Services from the Sebewaing Health Center. As of Wednesday, August 20, 2025, both Lab and Physical Therapy have been moved to their new temporary locations.

We had an amazing week up at Cheeseburger in Caseville! We started out our festivities with a record-breaking turnout at our Cheeseburger 5k run and walk. We then had the pleasure of hosting our Health Expo and Caseville Kids Safety Day throughout the week. Enjoy all the photos from our eventful week!

What a day for the Cheeseburger Fun Run 5k! The weather was hot, the breeze was flowing, and participants from all over showed up to make it the largest 5k yet, with over 700 participants. Enjoy the photos from the day along with viewing race times.

Scheurer Health was honored to sponsor a day at the Huron Community Fair on Wednesday, July 30. The fairgrounds were filled with nostalgia for this classic community tradition and we were happy to contribute to the festivities with a bounce house, kids games, blood pressure checks, ambulance tours and more.

There's nothing we enjoy more than kicking off our Community Wellness events with the Scheurer Sunset Classic 5k! This year saw an exceptional turnout, with ideal weather conditions providing the perfect temperature for a pleasant run/walk.
