As a Companion at Scheurer Senior Living, Barb’s role goes far beyond daily tasks. She takes the time to truly learn who each resident is, understanding their routines, preferences and personalities so she can support them in the best way possible.
From helping with meals and laundry, to assisting with morning and nighttime routines, Barb is always ready to lend a hand. Just as importantly, she supports each resident’s individuality, encouraging independence while being there whenever help is needed. Barb helps ensure residents feel comfortable, respected and at home.
Barb says she enjoys working at Scheurer because of the strong sense of teamwork. “We truly care for each other,” she shares, describing Country Gardens as one big family — staff and residents alike. For Barb, the most meaningful part of her job is simple and powerful: “Making a difference in someone’s life. Making it better.”
