Health in Five // Light Arm Circuit for Strength & Posture
Health in Five // Lightweight Arm Circuit with Abby Knoblock
Looking for a quick way to strengthen and tone your arms and improve posture? Abby Knoblock, personal trainer at Sandy Shores Wellness Center, demonstrates a simple lightweight arm circuit you can do at home in just a few minutes a day.
Arm Circuit Exercises
This routine uses light dumbbells or household items like soup cans or water bottles. If you don’t have equipment available, you can complete modified bodyweight movements instead.
Exercise 1: High Bicep Curl
Start with your arms fully extended at your sides, palms facing forward. Slowly bring your hands toward your shoulders, leading with your thumbs. This movement engages the biceps and shoulders while encouraging posture control.
Hold the movement briefly, then extend your arms back down with control.
Exercise 2: Front Raise & Curl
Extend your arms to your front. Repeat the motion of bringing your thumbs toward your shoulders, ensuring your elbows and shoulders stay aligned. Then, extending the arms forward again.
Focus on controlled movement rather than speed. Keep your core engaged and shoulders relaxed.
How to Complete the Circuit
Perform each movement for 30–60 seconds depending on your comfort level. As fatigue builds, maintain form and reduce speed instead of dropping your arms.
Complete 2–3 rounds total. You can alternate between the two movements or repeat the full circuit.
Exercise Benefits
This simple circuit helps:
- Build upper body strength
- Improve shoulder stability
- Support better posture
- Encourage daily movement habits
Even a few minutes a day can make a difference in how your body feels and functions over time.
Keep moving. Your body will thank you for it.
