Who Should Attend?
The screening is recommended for individuals with diabetes, pre-diabetes or those experiencing numbness or tingling in their feet. These conditions can increase the risk of developing wounds that may go unnoticed without regular foot checks.
Why Foot Screenings Matter
For people with diabetes, poor circulation and nerve damage can make it difficult to feel injuries or allow wounds to heal properly. As a result, blisters, cuts and sores may go undetected and become more serious over time.
“Early detection of a non-healing wound is extremely beneficial to the patient in terms of treatment,” said Jennifer Lemmer, Clinical Coordinator at Scheurer Wound Care. “Checking your feet during a screening may uncover a wound or condition you didn’t know you had.”
