Strides for Suicide Prevention // Elkton Autumnfest 5k

September is National Suicide Prevention Month. All month, mental health advocates, prevention organizations, survivors, allies, and community members unite to promote suicide prevention awareness. For the Elkton Autumnfest 5k and Kiddie Cruise, all the proceeds from the event go to the Huron County Suicide Prevention Coalition, a vital organization that raises awareness and provides support to those in need. If you would like to learn more about the coalition, what they do and how to help be involved in saving lives in our community through suicide prevention, reach out to Erica Jones at 989-269-9293 ext 111 or Shelly Grifka at 989-269-3333. Their Facebook page can be found by clicking here.

This is the 2nd year that Scheurer Health has put on this event and we are happy to announce that we raised $1,470 that will be going toward the coalition! This year, our event showcased a meaningful shirt design, reminding everyone that YOU MATTER and that 988 is the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

A special thank you to Thumb Community Health Partnership and to the Huron County Suicide Prevention Coalition for being at the 5k.
