An All-Star Week at Scheurer Health // National Hospital Week 2026
At Scheurer Health, National Hospital Week is a chance to celebrate the incredible people who make our organization stronger every single day. This year, we brought the energy with a sports-themed week full of team spirit, friendly competition and appreciation for the healthcare heroes who keep us in the game year-round.
From jerseys and themed colors to games, treats and activities, our employees showed up ready to represent — proving once again that no matter the department, location or role, we’re all on the same team.
Monday: Detroit Lions Day — Starting Strong 🏈
We kicked off Hospital Week in true game-day fashion with a Detroit Lions-themed Monday, filling our facilities with shades of blue and plenty of team pride.
Employees were featured in our sports card-style reel, highlighting the real MVPs across the organization. Later in the day, staff gathered for a tailgate-style celebration complete with cornhole, snacks, music and a crossword puzzle challenge. It was the perfect way to huddle up and launch a fun-filled week together.
Tuesday: Detroit Pistons Day — Bringing the Energy 🏀
Tuesday brought basketball spirit to Scheurer Health as employees traded in their scrubs for Pistons gear and teal attire.
The day’s featured activity was a scavenger hunt searching for Hooper, the Detroit Pistons mascot, hidden throughout our internal employee portal. Staff members were on the hunt all day long, adding a little friendly competition and teamwork into the mix.
Wednesday: Detroit Tigers Day - A Rain Delay Didn’t Stop the Fun ⚾️
Wednesday had employees stepping up to the plate in their orange attire for Detroit Tigers Day.
The highlight of the day was the Home Run Derby hosted by the Marketing team at the softball diamonds. Employees took their best swings in hopes of taking home a towering six-foot trophy and ultimate bragging rights. Between trivia, laughs and home run celebrations, it was clear our team knocked this day out of the park.
Thursday: Detroit Red Wings Day — Keeping It Cool 🏒
Thursday’s Red Wings theme brought a sea of red throughout the organization and a chance for employees to cool off with ice cream sandwiches delivered throughout the day.
Staff also participated in a coloring activity that added a little creativity and relaxation to the busy workday. It was another reminder that even during fast-paced shifts, taking time to celebrate each other matters.
Friday: Rep Your College Day — Pride Everywhere 📣
We wrapped up Hospital Week by celebrating the schools and colleges that helped shape our incredible workforce.
Employees proudly sported college apparel from across the state and beyond while enjoying free popcorn, a free jean day, word search activities and the announcement of our highly anticipated Door Decorating competition (see photos in gallery below).
More Than a Celebration
This week reminded us that healthcare is the ultimate team sport, and we are incredibly grateful for the all-star team we have here at Scheurer Health.
Whether caring for patients, supporting operations behind the scenes, keeping technology running, preparing meals, maintaining facilities, scheduling appointments or lending a helping hand wherever needed — every role matters.
Thank you to all employees who participated, dressed up, submitted photos, joined activities and helped make National Hospital Week 2026 such a memorable celebration.
