Advanced Life Support at Scheurer // Elevating Emergency Services

For more than 50 years, Scheurer’s ambulance service has provided Basic Life Support (BLS) care to the community. That longstanding commitment has now reached a new milestone — our service is fully certified to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS).

This advancement represents a meaningful step forward in the level of emergency care available locally. With ALS capabilities, our paramedics are equipped to deliver more complex medical interventions in the field, bringing a higher level of treatment directly to patients during critical situations.

The transition expands what can be done before a patient reaches the hospital. Our team is now trained and authorized to perform advanced procedures, including airway management such as intubation, as well as administer a broader range of medications. In time-sensitive emergencies such as stroke or cardiac events, initiating these treatments earlier can help preserve crucial minutes and improve the potential for better outcomes.

While our service area remains unchanged, the care provided within it has been strengthened. Achieving ALS certification reflects Scheurer’s ongoing commitment to staying at the forefront of healthcare and continually enhancing the services available to our community.

We are proud of the dedication, training and preparation demonstrated by our EMS professionals throughout this process. Their work ensures that when emergency care is needed, advanced support is available close to home.
