A Country Bay Christmas Tale 🎅
When the Grinch *tried* to Steal Christmas
By: Kelsey Ulfig
'Twas a couple of days before Christmas, in Country Bay's light,
the residents gathered for lunch, faces shining so bright.
The tables were set, with a feast to eat,
when suddenly, trouble stirred, causing hearts to beat.
The Grinch, in his mischief, appeared in a blink,
ready to destroy the joy that the lunch would bring.
The seniors sat chatting, sharing stories and cheer,
when the Grinch started creeping closingly near.
He snatched up the ornaments and broke candy canes all white and red,
took all the bows and jumped on the lap of sweet Ted.
Santa, in his suit so merry and his tummy the shape of a bubble,
heard of the Grinch's plan to stir up trouble.
With a twinkle in his eye and a rush to his sleigh,
he flew down to Country Bay to save the day.
As the Grinch cackled, creating a holiday mess,
he heard one of the reindeer shout out a "neigh",
as Santa went to rescue Sylvia Chandonnet.
With her smile so bright and full of glee,
the Grinch's heart began to triple by three.
Santa winked at the residents, then with a bound,
transformed all the chaos into joy all around.
The Grinch, once a menace, now part of the fun,
found the spirit of Christmas had truly begun.
And the seniors, so grateful for the lunchtime being so grand,
shouted in delight with the sounds of the Caseville School band.
For Santa and the Grinch, a very unlikely pair,
had made their Christmas beyond compare.
