Strengthening the Scheurer experience to an even higher level, two Scheurer teammates have completed additional certification and schooling to further the vision of “Better Health. Better Life.” The American Society for Health Care Risk Management (ASHRM) has recognized Kristen Rifenbark as a Fellow (FASHRM) for superior achievement in the field of health care risk management and Mike Viers as a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) through the American Society for Health Care Engineers (ASHE).

These certifications enable Scheurer to better the customer experience by ensuring that the best facilities are present across the entire Scheurer campus, in the safest and most risk-free environment possible. Rifenbark’s recognition as a Fellow is the result of her achievements at many levels – from Scheurer to the state and national level. She is currently serving as the president of the Michigan Society of Healthcare Risk Management (MSHRM). Rifenbark will be honored in a special ceremony at the society’s annual conference in Nashville this October.

Viers’ completion of the CHFM puts him in the company of just 37 healthcare professionals in Michigan. He is the only person in Michigan to have achieved this certification in 2018. Facility management in a healthcare setting is extremely tedious and requires maximum attention to detail so that the best possible care can be provided. As part of the American Hospital Association, the objective of ASHE is to advance the knowledge and expertise of facilities in the healthcare setting. Viers’ certification as a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager is a result of specific trade knowledge and being able to assist Scheurer and industry as a whole.

Terrance Lerash, President & CEO of Scheurer, is proud of the achievements that the Scheurer team has continued to accomplish. “These certifications and achievements are just another testament of our commitment to our patients and customers. It is our goal and vision to provide better health and a better life to each of our communities that we serve. Earning the designation that Kristen and Mike each have achieved is no easy task, but their dedication and expertise has helped propel Scheurer to a new level of professional care,” added Lerash.

Join us in congratulating and celebrating these successes with Kristen Rifenbark and Mike Viers!
