The Covenant Regional Thumb Network (CRTN), a network of six independent hospitals, is pleased to announce its formation. The network is composed of Covenant HealthCare, located in Saginaw, and five critical access hospitals located throughout Michigan’s Thumb area including Deckerville Community Hospital, Harbor Beach Community Hospital, Hills & Dales General Hospital, Marlette Regional Hospital, and Scheurer Hospital. While CRTN formed in late 2018, these hospitals have been working together for more than a decade to ensure quality healthcare is available to patients in the Thumb.

Having an independent relationship with Covenant allows for a streamlined flow of resources and services that might not be available outside of a major metropolitan area. The partnership enables patients to choose a hospital close to home that best fits their needs while utilizing the capabilities and strengths of CRTN. Instead of losing their local hospital to an acquisition by a large hospital conglomerate, the Thumb communities have strengthened local hospitals.

The relationship among the Covenant Regional Thumb Network ensures that Thumb communities have an independent hospital close to home that they can continue to depend on for quality care. It provides the assurance that if there is a need for more advanced procedures, the appropriate care is delivered through the coordinated relationship that the Thumb hospitals have with Covenant.
