Diagnostic Imaging - Pure Digital

Our imaging department will soon be completely digital when we begin performing mammograms utilizing Fuji Medical System's Aspire Computed Radiography Mammography (FCRm) equipment.

Our general x-ray, computed tomography, nuclear medicine and ultrasound already work on a digital platform and those modalities along with our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) are all state of the art.

The addition of Full Field Digital Mammography will offer our customers, both internal and external, the latest technology available for both screening and diagnostic mammography. Radiation dose is lower, the acquisition of the images is quicker and the resulting digital images can be manipulated by the radiologist to enable him to diagnose breast cancer when it is at it's most treatable and curable stage. Computer Aided Detection (CAD) will also be utilized, giving the radiologist a "second look" by essentially pointing out suspicious areas on the images.

We anticipate going live with this new system in late December or early January. Please watch for more details as we move toward this exciting new imaging capability. If you have any questions please contact us at (989) 453-5227.
