Babysitter Training Course
This American Red Cross course prepares youth ages 11 to 14 for the responsibility of babysitting. Course cost is $25. Tentative dates: June 18 and Nov. 15, 2013.
Cancer Support Group
As an affiliate of the American Cancer Society, "I Can Cope" meets the first Tuesday of each month from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Pine Room. The group focuses on education, camaraderie and compassion.
This group provides support for those caring for loved ones with memory loss, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's or related dementias. Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month from 12:00 to 1:30 pm at Country Gardens. Lunch is provided.
CPR & First Aid
Get certified in American Heart Association CPR with AED training ($30) or First Aid ($25). Classes are offered monthly, or special classes may be scheduled for groups. For a complete schedule and to sign up, please visit the Classes & Events page.
Cheeseburger in Caseville 5K Fun Run
This event is great fun for the whole family. Registration includes a T-shirt. The race is Aug. 10 at 9:00 am at the Caseville County Park. Register for the race!
Pigeon Sunset Classic 5K Run
This race is a fun way for families to be active. Registration includes a T-shirt. Race is July 18 at 8:00 pm at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care Parking Lot.
Scheurer Train 5K
Join this 10-week training program and work up to a 5K walk or run. The first 200 participants receive free gifts and registration in the Pigeon Sunset Classic. Registration dates are April 22 - May 3.
Scheurer Hospital will provide a speaker on a variety of medical topics for church or civic organizations. These are available free of charge on request.
Come for free preventive screenings at the Scheurer Professional Center in Pigeon on April 30 from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
These tours introduce preschool and kindergarten students to the hospital and staff. Call to schedule a time that's convenient for your class.
Kids' Safety Day
This free event will be held Aug. 15 at the Caseville Fire Hall from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Bike helmets, photo IDs, make-your-own first aid kits and more!
MS Support Group
The Multiple Sclerosis support group meets bi-annually and focuses on education and support. A free dinner is provided.
Relay for Life
Join the Scheurer Hospital Relay for Life team. This family-friendly event occurs June 22 to 23 at Bad Axe City Park. Come and visit that day, or join the team to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
These programs are designed to celebrate growing older and provide helpful resources to older adults and their families. Held on the first four Tuesdays in April at 2:00 pm at Country Bay Village.
Free Senior Health Expo
Seniors 60 and older are invited to Senior Day at the Haron Community Fair for a free health expo on July 24 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm The expo features health screenings, freebies and more. Enjoy a free chicken dinner from 5:00 to 6:30 pm.
Women's Health Expo
Women of all ages are welcome to visit the tent at the Caseville County Park on Aug. 14 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Enjoy great health information, screenings and freebies.
